Be Part of Transforming Health and Social Care

This autumn, a series of half-day events across Wales are being held for all staff working in health and social care services.

The events, organised by Welsh Government and hosted by the West Wales Regional Partnership Board, will give delegates from the NHS, local authorities and the third sector a better understanding of A Healthier Wales.

A Healthier Wales is the national plan to bring health and social care services closer together and make them fit for the future.  There are four main aims of A Healthier Wales:

  • People will be happier and healthier
  • Health and care services will be better and easier to access
  • Health and care services will be innovative and use the latest technology
  • Staff in health and care will feel looked after and motivated

Chair of West Wales Regional Partnership Board Councillor Jane Tremlett said: “Wales is leading the way in bringing health and social care services together so it’s crucial that staff across the whole system are informed and have the chance to be part of the transformation.

“We are inviting all staff to attend these events and learn more about how West Wales is working differently, more collaboratively, and putting the needs of the service user at the heart of how our local system is designed.

“To do this on a large scale across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire we need new models of care. That is where you come in. We need to hear your ideas about what works locally and what can be scaled up. What lessons can we learn from the cross-sectoral partnerships you have made in your day to day work?

“Join us at these events to share your learning and be part of creating A Healthier Wales.”
